2016 MISS - RULES & FORMS

How to Enter A Local Pageant

To enter the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant, one must win a local pageant. Visit our local pageant page. The local director of the pageant will then send you the necessary paperwork to compete. This will usually include the following:

1. Application
2. *Pageant Platform Statement (1 page statement of personal platform choice)
3. Fact Sheet/Resume
4. Talent Reservation Form

5. Birth Certificate

6. Driver's License

7. Headshot for the program

8. State Contract (Should you win a local pageant, you are required to have this contract signed and completed immediately to send to the state Executive Director.

Contestants are responsible for raising at least $100 for the Children's Miracle Network to participate in a local pageant and at least $250 to participate in the state pageant. After registering for a local pageant with a local pageant director, visit www.missamerica4kids.com to fulfill your Children's Miracle Network needs. 

*Pageant Platform : A platform is the cause or organization a contestant promotes through her title and involvement with the pageant.

Additional information on qualifications is available by contacting any local pageant or Executive Director Chet Welch. Contestant requirements are subject to change at the discretion of the Miss America or Miss Pennsylvania Organizations. * Local Pageants may limit competition to limited geographic areas of the state. "Closed" Pageants" generally have a very limited geographic area, "Regional Pageants a larger geographic area and "Open Pageants" are open to any contestant in Pennsylvania.

 

Contestant Requirements 

1. All Miss Pennsylvania Contestants must win a "local" pageant to gain entry into the state pageant. For a list of current local pageants, visit our Local Pageants Page.
2. Contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 24.
3. All contestants must be female.
4. Contestants must be single and never have been married.
5. Contestants must be at least a high school senior at the time you begin local competition.
6. Contestants must be a U.S. citizens.
7. Contestants must be of good moral character.
8. Contestants must reside, attend school or work in Pennsylvania.*
There are no entry fees charged. Contestants are responsible, however, for their own wardrobe including evening wear, swimsuit and talent outfit.

THE 2016 MISS PENNSYLVANIA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN PAGEANT WILL BE HELD FROM WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2016 THROUGH  FRIDAY, JUNE 24, 2016 IN PITTSBURGH! 

 

NOTES TO PROSPECTIVE CONTESTANTS:

AGE REQUIREMENTS - All Contestants must be between the ages of 12 and 17 and must turn 13 by the date of the Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen Pageant (June 12, 2015). In addition the contestant may not turn 18 prior to July 31, 2015.

ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE IN PENNSYLVANIA - Contestant must prove she has been a resident of Pennsylvania for six (6) months prior to the date of her first competition OR have been a full time student for one semester in a Pennsylvania High School, Junior High School or Middle School prior to her first competition 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Contestant must be enrolled in an accredited public, private or home schooling program. The contestant may not have graduated from high school prior to Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant in August 2012 unless she graduated early at age 16 or younger.

OPEN PAGEANT - A contestant must be eligible to compete in Miss Pennsylvania without regard to where in Pennsylvania she resides, attends school or works.

REGIONAL PAGEANT - A contestant must be eligible to compete in Miss Pennsylvania but must reside, attend school or work in a geographically limited area of the state. The area is normally larger than that of a "Closed Pageant."

CLOSED PAGEANT - A contestant must be eligible to compete in Miss Pennsylvania and also must meet other qualifications. In some cases the contestant must reside, attend, school and/or work within a defined area of the state. In other cases the contestant must attend a specific college or university. In still other cases the contestant must have participated in other local pageants to be eligible to compete. The restrictions are normally greater than in a "Regional Pageant."
